Embodied Movement Arts Therapy

This business of being human isn't about being perfect. It can be messy and painful, and it doesn’t move in a straight line. It’s a zigzag that can feel confusing, overwhelming, and complex. I believe in honoring the zigzag and meeting clients where they are at in the divine messiness of their lives and personal journey of self-discovery.

I believe in the healing power of being seen and heard while we are in the process of making meaning of our lived experience. Having a witness who can listen, reflect, and gently guide you in learning how to creatively see and move beyond limiting patterns of thought and behavior can be a valuable partnership. I’m here to be that guide.

CREDENTIALS

I am a Registered Somatic Movement Therapist through the International Somatic Movement Education and Therapy Association (ISMETA), and received my Masters degree in Movement and Expressive Arts Education and Therapy from Lesley University.

I am a certified practitioner of the Tamalpa Life/Art Process, a movement-based expressive arts approach co-created by dance and healing arts pioneers Anna Halprin and Daria Halprin. I had the honor of assisting both Anna and Daria in their teaching at the Tamalpa Institute, where I served on the Board of Directors. I am currently an Associate Teacher for the Tamalpa Institute, sharing the work in the southeastern United States.

I am a Registered Yoga Teacher with 6 years of experience teaching trauma-informed yoga. I focus on slow, conscious movement to build nervous system resiliency, kinesthetic intelligence, and emotional regulation aligned with the teachings of Anna Halprin’s Movement Ritual.

I have been working with individuals, families, and groups for over 25 years, including eight years as a clinical social worker specializing in recognizing and managing the symptoms of trauma at a residential treatment program for adults with acute mental health challenges.
